Chocolate Swiss Roll Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup superfine sugar
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • vanilla ice cream, softened
  • fudge sauce for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Beat eggs and sugar together until thick and creamy.
  3. Sift flour and cocoa together and gently fold into the eggs.
  4. Fold in water, and pour batter onto a jelly roll pan lined with well-greased waxed paper.
  5. Bake for 7-10 minutes then remove from oven and turn out onto another piece of waxed paper that has been covered with sprinkled sugar.
  6. Lay another piece of waxed paper on top and firmly roll.
  7. Allow to completely cool, then unroll and spread with vanilla ice cream.
  8. Roll again and dredge with more sugar, then wrap in waxed paper and freeze.
  9. Serve topped with fudge sauce (see recipe here).
