Frosting

Note: This rich, fudgy frosting may be used on any of your favorite cakes.

  1. To make frosting, combine margarine, cocoa and buttermilk in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.
  3. Stir in vanilla and confectioners’ sugar.
  4. Immediately pour over the brownies, spreading to edges.
  5. If frosting becomes too hard to spread, return to the “warm” burner for a few minutes, stirring constantly.
  6. Cut brownies when cool.
