Brownie Pudding Recipe

Serves 4-6

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1-3/4 cups hot water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Sift flour, sugar, 2 tablespoons of the cocoa, baking powder and salt into a large bowl.
  3. Stir in milk, melted butter and vanilla.
  4. Stir until mixture is smooth.
  5. Stir in nuts.
  6. Spread mixture evenly in any size souffle dish.
  7. Mix brown sugar with remaining cocoa and sprinkle this mixture over the batter.
  8. Pour the hot water evenly over all.
  9. Bake for 40 minutes.
  10. Beat cream with confectioners’ sugar.
  11. Serve warm, topped with cream.
