Ingredients:

  • 1 package (6 ounces) butterscotch chips
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. In a double boiler over hot (not boiling) water, melt butterscotch chips in margarine.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar.
  4. Let cool 5 minutes, then stir in eggs and vanilla.
  5. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and stir into batter.
  6. Add nuts.
  7. Spread in a greased 13″x9″ pan and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Cut into squares.
