Cherry Cream Delight Recipe

Serves 8-10

Ingredients:

  • 6 egg whites
  • 3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
  • 2 cups saltines or Ritz crackers, broken into 1/2″ pieces
  • 1 can (16 ounces) cherry (or other) pie filling
  • whipped cream

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Beat egg whites until frothy.
  3. Add cream of tartar and continue beating.
  4. Add vanilla.
  5. Gradually add sugar.
  6. When stiff, fold in nuts and crackers.
  7. Pour into buttered 9″ x 13″ pan.
  8. Bake approximately 20 minutes.  Do not overbake.
  9. Cool completely.
  10. Cover with pie filling and whipped cream.
  11. Chill thoroughly.
