Walnut Pie Recipe From Rags Restaurant

Make Ahead
Serves 6-8

Ingredients:

  • 9″ baked pie shell
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon corn liquor or brandy
  • 1 cup whole walnuts
  • brandied whipped cream for topping

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Thoroughly mix all ingredients except nuts.
  3. Add the walnuts and stir to blend.
  4. Pour into pie shell and bake for 35 minutes or until the edges are well set but the center is shaky.
  5. Cool and serve with brandied whipped cream.
