Freezes Well
Yield: 1-1/2 dozen
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1-1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Add 2 egg yolks and one egg white.
- Sift in the flour and baking powder.
- Add vanilla.
- Spread batter in a shallow, greased pan (7-1/2″ x 11-1/2″ or 9″ x 9″).
- Mix together brown sugar, nuts and remaining egg white.
- Spread over batter and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Allow to cool, and cut into squares.
