Freezes Well
Yield: 5-6 dozen
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1-3/4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- cinnamon sugar
- nuts and/or candied cherries
Instructions:
- Cream butter and sugar. Gradually add the egg.
- Sift the flour with the baking powder and add to the batter.
- Chill until firm.
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- On a floured board, roll half the dough at a time to 1/8″ thickness and cut with your favorite cookie cutters.
- Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Sprinkle the cookies with cinnamon sugar and decorate with nuts and candied cherries.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until slightly browned at the edges.
