Make Ahead
Yield: 6 dozen
Ingredients:
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 tablespoons sour cream
- 3 cups flour sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions:
- Cream sugar and butter until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time.
- Add extracts and sour cream.
- Sift flour, salt and soda. Gradually add to mixture, blending well.
- Chill at least 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- Roll out dough, small amount at a time, on a floured board.
- Cut with cookie cutters.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 6-9 minutes until just beginning to brown.
Note: cookies may be stored in tins for 2 weeks.
