One-Crust Green Apple Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 unbaked pie shell (see note below)
  • 2 cups green apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 heaping tablespoon flour
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • whipped cream

Instructions:

Note: Use a large or deep-dish pie shell, or if using a smaller size, reduce the amount of cream to avoid bubbling over.

  1. Preheat oven to 450°.
  2. Line pie shell with sliced apples.
  3. Sprinkle sugar over apples, then sprinkle flour evenly over all.
  4. Pour on the heavy cream and bake at 450 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to 350° and continue baking for 30-40 minutes.
  6. Cool to set.
  7. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.
