Grand Marnier Mousse Recipe

Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange rind
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup Grand Marnier
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • orange slices or strawberries marinated in Grand Marnier for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Mix together gelatin, sugar and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Beat together egg yolks and 1/2 cup of orange juice.  Then stir into the gelatin.
  3. Bring to boil over low heat, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove from heat and add remaining 1/2 cup orange juice, grated rind and lemon juice.
  5. Let the mixture cool.
  6. Add Grand Marnier.
  7. Chill until mixture starts to set (about 1/2 hour).
  8. Whip cream and add to mixture.
  9. Rinse a 4-5-cup ring mold or souffle dish with cold water and pour in mixture.
  10. Refrigerate several hours.
  11. Unmold on a serving platter and garnish with orange slices or strawberries.
