Make Ahead
Yield: 1 cup
Ingredients:
- 3 squares unsweetened chocolate
- 1-2 cup water
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4-1/2 tablespoons butter
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions:
- Combine chocolate with 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan or in the top of a double boiler.
- Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate melts.
- Add sugar and salt.
- Continue cooking and stirring until sugar melts and the mixture thickens (about 5 minutes).
- Remove from heat and blend in butter and vanilla, stirring until butter melts.
- Cool and refrigerate in covered glass jar until ready to use.
