Butterscotch Oaties Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 package (6 ounces) butterscotch chips
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • tablespoons boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Melt butterscotch chips and butter in double boiler.  Remove from heat.
  3. Mix boiling water with baking soda and add to butterscotch mixture.
  4. Gradually blend in remaining ingredients.
  5. Drop by slightly rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes.

Note: these cookies are also good with a confectioners’ sugar glaze.
