This is especially good for chiffon or cream pies, and it makes an excellent topping for cheesecake.

Yield: 9″ pie crust
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup sifted flour
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- Mix all ingredients together with hands and spread in an oblong baking dish.
- Bake 15 minutes, then remove from oven and stir with a spoon.
- Remove 1/2 cup of this to reserve for topping.
- Immediately press the remainder on the bottom and sides of a 9″ pie tin.
- Cool, then pour in pie filling.
- Sprinkle reserved crumbs on top of filling and chill for 1 hour.
