Banana Bundt Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3 bananas, mashed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract
  • 3 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2-1/4 cups flour, sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons wheat germ
  • confectioners’ sugar for dusting

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°.
  2. Cream butter and sugar.
  3. Add beaten eggs, mashed bananas, vanilla, orange extract, sour cream and buttermilk.  Mix well.  Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  4. Add flour mixture and wheat germ to batter and stir until smooth.
  5. Pour into a greased and floured bundt pan and bake for 1 hour.
  6. Cool in the pan 10 minutes, then remove and cool on a cake rack.
  7. Dust with confectioners’ sugar before serving.
